Heart-Shaped Platters & Plates – Polish Pottery by Ceramika Artystyczna

Heart-Shaped Platters & Plates in Polish Pottery – Serve with Love

Some pieces of tableware simply fulfil a practical purpose, while others create a special atmosphere through their shape alone.

Our heart-shaped platters and plates in Polish Pottery belong to the latter. The heart shape represents love, affection, friendship, family, gratitude and togetherness. This makes a heart-shaped plate much more than a beautiful way to serve food – it can turn an everyday moment into something memorable.

The heart-shaped pieces are made by the renowned manufacturer Ceramika Artystyczna in Bolesławiec, Poland, combining their distinctive shape with the unique character of handcrafted and beautifully decorated Polish Pottery.

Whether used for breakfast for two, a slice of cake in the afternoon, a beautifully arranged dessert, a starter in a restaurant or an elegant wedding table, a heart-shaped plate can transform even a simple dish into an eye-catching presentation.

Three Sizes – for Little Treats and Special Moments

The heart shape is produced in three different sizes:

Small heart: approx. 9 × 9 cm

Medium heart: approx. 18 × 18 cm

Large heart: approx. 23 × 20 cm

Our range focuses primarily on the small heart measuring approx. 9 × 9 cm and the large heart-shaped platter measuring approx. 23 × 20 cm. The medium-sized version is currently not part of our regular programmed range.

Combining the smallest and largest hearts opens up many possibilities for creative table settings. The large heart can hold a starter, salad, cake, dessert or a selection of delicacies, while the small heart can be placed alongside it for dips, butter, olives, salt, spices or a little sweet treat.

The Small Heart – approx. 9 × 9 cm

Small certainly does not mean insignificant. In fact, the little heart shape is perfect for those thoughtful details that make a beautifully laid table feel complete.

It can be used for butter, herb butter, jam, honey, cream cheese, spreads, olives, small antipasti, nuts, almonds, dates, dried fruit, cubes of cheese, herbs, spices, salt, dips, sauces, chocolates, pralines, biscuits, petit fours, berries, small fruits or lemon wedges.

At breakfast, the small heart can be filled with butter, jam or honey and placed alongside a breakfast plate.

At dinner, it becomes a charming little dish for olives, dips or seasonings.

With coffee and cake, it can hold a single chocolate, a small biscuit or another sweet treat.

This size also offers many possibilities for restaurants, cafés and hotels. It can be used for an amuse-bouche, butter served with bread, olives, dips or a small sweet accompaniment to coffee.

The Large Heart-Shaped Platter – approx. 23 × 20 cm

The large heart is much more than a decorative serving platter. Thanks to its practical size, it can often be used just like a conventional plate.

It is ideal as a breakfast plate, starter plate, cake plate, dessert plate, salad plate, cheese plate, cold-cuts plate, antipasti platter or serving platter.

This makes it possible to enjoy the heart shape throughout the day, from breakfast through to dinner.

Breakfast with Heart

A beautifully arranged breakfast on a heart-shaped platter is a wonderful way to make someone feel special from the very beginning of the day.

The large heart can be arranged with a croissant or bread roll, cheese, egg, fresh fruit, berries, tomatoes and cucumber.

It looks especially attractive when combined with a small 9 × 9 cm heart filled with jam, honey, butter or cream cheese.

An ordinary breakfast can quickly become a thoughtful little arrangement.

It is ideal for a birthday, wedding anniversary, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day or simply a relaxing weekend morning.

Stylish Starters

The large heart-shaped platter is ideal for both cold and warm starters.

Tomato and mozzarella, grilled vegetables, stuffed vine leaves, hummus, falafel, small salads and assorted antipasti can all be arranged beautifully on the heart-shaped surface.

In restaurants and hotels, the unusual shape can give even a relatively simple starter its own distinctive character.

The plate itself becomes part of the presentation.

Salads on a Heart-Shaped Plate

Salads can also be beautifully presented on the large heart.

It is ideal for green salads, tomato salad, cucumber salad, couscous salad, bulgur salad, Mediterranean salads, fruit salad or salads with cheese and roasted nuts.

Instead of mixing all the ingredients together, individual components can be deliberately arranged to follow the contours of the heart.

This creates an attractive and distinctive presentation.

Cakes, Pastries and Sweet Treats

The large heart is particularly attractive as a heart-shaped cake plate.

A generous slice of cheesecake, apple cake, chocolate cake or fruit tart can be placed in the centre and accompanied by fresh fruit, berries or a little whipped cream.

Several smaller treats can also be served together, including macarons, biscuits, small pieces of cake, chocolates or petit fours.

This makes the heart-shaped platter a beautiful choice for afternoon tea, coffee and cake or a festive dessert table.

Desserts – Made for the Heart Shape

Few shapes are better suited to a special dessert than a heart.

The large heart-shaped platter can be used for panna cotta, chocolate mousse, tiramisu, ice cream, fresh berries, fruit, crêpes, small pancakes and many other desserts.

For an especially attractive presentation, the heart shape itself can be incorporated into the decoration.

Berries, pieces of fruit, chocolate decorations or mint leaves can be arranged to follow the outline of the heart.

Cheese, Antipasti and Little Delicacies

For a relaxing evening, the large heart can become a beautiful cheese or antipasti platter.

Arrange different cheeses, grapes, figs, dates, nuts, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, crackers and small slices of bread on the platter.

Small heart dishes can be placed alongside for dips, olives or nuts.

Together, the different sizes create a charming heart-themed serving arrangement.

Barbecues, Gardens and Terraces

There is no reason to leave a beautiful heart platter in the cupboard during a barbecue.

It is ideal for grilled vegetables, grilling cheese, bread, baguette, salads, tomatoes, cucumber, dips, herb butter and side dishes.

On a summer table in the garden, on the balcony or terrace, the beautifully decorated Polish Pottery adds colour, character and individuality.

Weddings – When the Shape Becomes Part of the Message

The heart shape is a natural choice for weddings.

Heart-shaped platters can be used on the wedding table for starters, desserts, cakes and small delicacies.

The small heart is also perfect for chocolates, pastries or little culinary treats.

A large heart-shaped platter can create a particularly attractive feature on the bride and groom's table.

After the celebration, it remains a useful piece of tableware that can bring back memories of that special day for many years to come.

Wedding Anniversaries – Enjoying Special Moments Together

Even many years after a wedding, a heart-shaped platter can become part of a personal anniversary tradition.

Serve a shared breakfast, a favourite cake or an evening dessert on it.

The same heart plate can return to the table year after year, gradually becoming part of the couple's shared memories.

Valentine's Day – Love Served at the Table

Valentine's Day is one of the classic occasions for heart-shaped tableware.

There is no need to prepare an elaborate menu.

A croissant with strawberries in the morning, a slice of cake in the afternoon or a small dessert in the evening takes on a completely different character when served on a heart-shaped plate.

The message comes not only from the food itself, but also from the way it is presented.

Mother's Day and Family Moments

A heart-shaped platter can also express gratitude and affection.

For Mother's Day, it can be used to serve breakfast, homemade cake or a favourite dessert.

Children can bake biscuits together with an adult and then arrange them on the heart-shaped platter.

In this way, the platter becomes associated with a shared experience rather than simply being a gift.

Birthdays and Special Personal Moments

Not every beautiful occasion needs an official name.

Passing an exam, starting a new job, seeing someone again after a long absence, spending a weekend together, celebrating a birthday or simply wanting to make someone happy are all wonderful reasons to bring out the heart-shaped plate.

Sometimes an unexpected breakfast or a piece of cake served for no particular reason creates the most memorable moment.

For Restaurants, Cafés, Hotels and Catering

Heart-shaped platters also offer many possibilities for professional hospitality and catering.

They are suitable for hotel breakfasts, breakfasts for couples, romantic arrangements, wedding tables, restaurant desserts, cakes in cafés, starters, small salads, cheese, antipasti, petit fours, chocolates with coffee and special menus.

They are also an excellent choice for seasonal promotions and special menus around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, weddings and anniversaries.

Where guests expect not only good food but also a memorable dining experience, distinctive tableware can become an important part of the presentation.

The same dessert served on an ordinary plate and on a beautifully decorated heart-shaped plate can create a completely different impression.

For Different Cultures and Family Traditions

The heart is widely understood as a symbol of affection, hospitality and togetherness across many cultures.

A heart-shaped platter therefore does not have to be associated only with Valentine's Day or weddings. It can also be used for family celebrations, welcoming guests, festive meals and shared dining occasions.

In families with Christian, Jewish or Muslim traditions, the platters can be incorporated into the family's own customs and used for festive dishes, sweets, fruit, baked goods, starters and small culinary treats.

The focus is not on any particular religion, but on sharing food, hospitality and the pleasure of serving something beautiful to family, friends and guests.

A Piece of Tableware for Creating Memories

A heart-shaped platter is rarely chosen simply because another ordinary plate is missing from the kitchen cupboard.

It is chosen because its shape expresses something.

It might become part of a first breakfast together, appear on a wedding table, return every year for an anniversary, hold the birthday cake of someone special or simply be filled with cheese, fruit and little delicacies on an ordinary Sunday.

That is what makes the heart shape so special.

Polish Pottery brings craftsmanship, table culture and emotion together.

The small hearts measuring approx. 9 × 9 cm add thoughtful details for accompaniments and little delicacies.

The large heart-shaped platters measuring approx. 23 × 20 cm provide plenty of space for breakfast, starters, cakes, desserts, salads, cheese, antipasti and many other dishes.

Used together, the two sizes can create a table setting that is not only beautiful but also conveys a simple message:

Served with love.
