This oval baking dish and serving bowl in Polish Pottery by Ceramika Artystyczna is a particularly versatile piece of tableware for the kitchen, the dining table, restaurants, hotels, catering, floristry and creative decoration.

The outer dimensions are approx. 21 × 13.5 cm, the height approx. 5.6 cm, the weight approx. 0.5 kg, and the maximum water capacity up to overflow is approx. 850 ml.

The base measures approx. 16 × 8.5 cm, allowing the dish to stand securely on the kitchen worktop, dining table or buffet.

This shape is available in 5 different sizes, and this version is the second smallest in the series.

It is an especially practical size for smaller households, singles and couples, smaller main dishes, side dishes, starters, desserts and food for sharing.

The oval shape looks harmonious and elegant on a beautifully laid table.

The dish can be used not only as a classic baking dish, but also as a serving bowl, salad bowl, fruit bowl, bread basket, buffet bowl or decorative container.

A major advantage is that food can be prepared and served in the same dish.

Lasagne, potato gratin, vegetables, meat dishes or desserts do not need to be transferred to another serving dish after baking.

This turns a practical kitchen item into a decorative part of the table at the same time.

Ideal for small casseroles and oven dishes

The capacity of approx. 850 ml is especially useful for smaller portions.

It can be used for example for

Potato gratin

The compact size is ideal when you do not want to use an oversized baking dish for a smaller amount of food.

For singles and two-person households

The second smallest size in the series is particularly suitable when there is no need to cook for a large family.

For one person, a complete smaller meal can be prepared in it.

For two people, it is perfect for side dishes, vegetables, potatoes, a small gratin or a shared dessert.

If family members or guests have different tastes, several small dishes can be used at the same time, for example one vegetarian version, one with meat, one mild and one more strongly seasoned.

For a dinner for two, it can be used for a small main dish or a shared side dish and then brought directly to the table.

Salads

Desserts

Fruit

Finger food

Tapas

Small starters

Side dishes for two people

Restaurants with a traditional, regional, rustic or artisanal concept can use Polish Pottery to create a much more individual presentation than with ordinary white catering tableware.

For hotels and breakfast buffets

The dish can also be used in many different ways on a breakfast buffet.

Small bread rolls

Croissants

Fruit

Tomatoes

Cucumber slices

Pastries

Small jars of jam

Butter portions

Nuts

Dried fruit

A combination of several bowls in different sizes and patterns can create a lively and attractive buffet.

For catering and events

For catering, this size is practical for smaller amounts and complementary dishes.

Finger food

Antipasti

Dips

Side dishes

Cheese

Olives

Vegetables

Desserts

Pastries

Small salads

Several bowls can be distributed along a long table so that guests can easily serve themselves from different positions.

As a movable herb garden

A particularly creative use outside the classic kitchen is a small movable herb garden.

The dish can be used as a decorative base for small herb pots.

Basil

Parsley

Chives

Thyme

Rosemary

Oregano

Mint

Coriander

Marjoram

Because a baking dish is not a traditional plant pot with drainage holes, it is advisable to keep the herbs in separate small pots or suitable inserts and place these inside the pottery dish.

This makes it easier to control excess water.

A major advantage is that the whole herb garden can be moved as one unit.

In the morning it can stand by a bright kitchen window.

While cooking it can be moved to the worktop.

For a barbecue it can be placed on the terrace.

During the meal it can even stand directly on the table, giving everyone easy access to fresh herbs.

For cress and microgreens

The dish can also be used as a decorative outer container for a shallow growing tray with cress or microgreens.

Suitable options include

Cress

Radish microgreens

Broccoli microgreens

Rocket

Mustard

Peas

Sunflower

The actual growing is best done in a removable insert so that moisture can be controlled more easily.

For seeds and young plants

In spring, the dish can become a small growing station on the windowsill.

Small pots with

Tomatoes

Peppers

Basil

Parsley

Lettuce

Herbs

Summer flowers

can be placed together inside the oval dish.

This keeps the small pots neatly grouped and makes it easy to move them together to a brighter or sunnier position.

For floristry

The compact oval shape also offers many possibilities for florists and creative decorations.

Fresh flowers

Dried flowers

Moss

Branches

Succulents in small pots

Ornamental grasses

Stones

Pine cones

Natural materials

Small decorative figures

Decorative balls

The low and relatively wide shape is particularly suitable for table arrangements because the decoration does not need to be built too high.

For weddings and festive tables

At a wedding, the bowl can be decorated with small flowers, greenery, moss and seasonal natural materials.

Several pieces can be arranged along a long festive table.

After the celebration, the pottery can be cleaned and reused again as a baking dish or serving bowl.

Spring decoration

In spring, the dish can be decorated with moss, spring flowers, branches, cress, small bulb plants and stones.

This creates a small spring landscape for the dining table, windowsill or sideboard.

Easter decoration

At Easter, the oval bowl can be filled with moss, cress, decorative eggs, feathers, branches and spring flowers.

Thanks to its compact size, it also fits well on smaller tables or windowsills.

Autumn decoration

In autumn, natural materials are ideal.

Chestnuts

Acorns

Walnuts

Rosehips

Small apples

Pine cones

Colourful autumn leaves

Dried flowers

Small decorative pumpkins

This turns the kitchen bowl temporarily into a beautiful seasonal decoration.

Advent and Christmas

The bowl can also be used creatively during Advent and Christmas.

Fir branches

Pine cones

Dried orange slices

Cinnamon sticks

Walnuts

Stars

Small Christmas baubles

Small LED lights

The same pottery that is used for cooking and serving throughout the year can take on a completely different character during the festive season.
