The journey begins with preparing the clay and hand-throwing the form on a potter’s wheel – a skilled task that demands balance and precision. The piece then dries slowly for up to 48 hours before it undergoes its first kiln firing.

Next comes the most delicate phase – the brush painting. Artists spend several hours – often a full working day – applying the detailed design entirely by hand, without stencils. This phase requires years of experience, a steady hand, and true artistic flair. Once painted, the vase is glazed and high-fired at over 1,200°C, giving it the vivid gloss and durability Polish Pottery is known for.
