Maria Iwicka

Me crié en un entorno lleno de amor por la literatura polaca y la historia del arte. En una atmósfera así, se desarrolla la sensibilidad hacia la belleza y la curiosidad por el mundo.
Siento una profunda afinidad tanto por el impresionismo, con su fugacidad de emociones, como por el modernismo, con su inquietud y asimetría.
Creo que diseñar y buscar nuevas decoraciones universales para distintas piezas de cerámica es una forma comercial de extraer del legado del movimiento “Joven Polonia” —una corriente de la literatura polaca de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, en la que se rompió la frontera entre el arte y la artesanía.

Lo que encuentro especialmente inspirador es la capacidad de trabajar con el color y la diversidad de técnicas decorativas para dotar a la cerámica de uso diario de motivos hermosos y únicos, que hacen referencia a la tradición y a ideas de diseño originales.
