Special Recipe: Wildflower Tea (Self-Gathered)

Ingredients for one large teapot (approx. 900 ml):
– 2 tsp dried elderflower
– 1 tsp dried chamomile
– 1 tsp dried calendula (marigold)
– 1 tsp dried linden flower
– 1–2 mint leaves (fresh or dried)
– Optional: 1 dried apple slice or lemon peel

Preparation:

1. Place the flowers loosely in a tea infuser or cloth pouch.

2. Pour over with hot water (90–95 °C / 195–203 °F).

3. Let steep for 8–10 minutes with the lid closed to retain essential oils.

4. Sweeten with honey or add a splash of lemon juice if desired.

Tips for Foraging Your Own Tea:

• Best time to pick: early morning in dry weather – most aromatic then.

• Avoid roadsides or sprayed areas.

• Use only plants you can identify with certainty.

• Dry flowers in the shade with good air circulation and store airtight.

• Mix only a few types – less is more to preserve flavor and aroma.
