Recipe: Chocolate Mug Cake (Serves 4)

Ingredients:

• 4 tbsp flour

• 4 tbsp sugar

• 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

• ¼ tsp baking powder

• 1 egg (medium)

• 3 tbsp milk

• 2 tbsp neutral vegetable oil (e.g., sunflower)

• 1 pinch of salt

• 1 tsp vanilla sugar or a few drops of vanilla extract

• 30 g dark chocolate, chopped

Optional toppings:

• Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

• Fresh berries

• Powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C (350 °F, conventional heat). Lightly grease 4 Polish pottery mugs.

2. Mix the batter:
   In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and vanilla. Add the egg, milk, and oil, and whisk until smooth. Fold in the chopped chocolate.

3. Fill the mugs:
   Divide the batter evenly into the mugs – only fill them halfway, as the cake will rise while baking.

4. Bake:
   Place the mugs on a baking tray and bake for 20–25 minutes. Test doneness with a toothpick.

5. Serve warm – right in the mug, topped with cream, ice cream, or berries. A warm, cozy treat perfect for any time of day!
